Hello and Happy 2018! Just a quick post today about donating your used modular classroom to a church or school in need. There are organizations looking for modular classroom space across the country and many public schools have portables waiting for a new home. If your school has 24'x40' or 24' x 60' modular classrooms to donate or sell for a low price please call me today at (800) 806-7485.
Many of the school programs I deal with are in need of assistance and having a modular classroom donated sometimes is the difference between education success and failure, particularly in areas that are economically challenged and lack quality school housing. A modular classroom can make a huge difference in any type of school program - but in many cases the costs are simply out of reach.
Thanks and please share this post with anyone that may be able to help.
Matt

How much does a portable classroom cost in Los Angeles, California
Portable Classroom costs in Los Angeles, California
Los Angeles county in California has thousands of portable classrooms and modular buildings in use for schools, churches and businesses - and it's been this way for decades. This means a few good things for you if you are trying to rent or buy a portable today. Use the following tips to your buying advantage:
Tip #1. There are several modular building suppliers in California that service the Los Angeles market. These companies will compete for your business so get at least three price quotes before you spend any money.
**Use the form below to send your request for a price to the most popular suppliers in California. This also works for all other U.S. States.
Tip #2. With so many portables and modular buildings being used you will most likely find your best deal on a used structure. Check with Los Angeles Unified School District and other surrounding public and private schools to see if they have any portables to sell. Also try calling some of the larger churches in the area - sometimes you can find a great deal by going direct to the owner of the modular.
Tip #3. Consider buying a used portable over renting. Sometimes you can save thousands of dollars this way and will be free and clear to use the modular for as long as you need - and keep it available for future needs.

How Long Do Modular Buildings Last?
How long can you expect your modular building to last?
"If I buy a new modular building how long can I expect it to last? Is it worth it to buy a new one or used?"
This is a popular question at iModular.com. People call and ask us this after they have talked to a few suppliers or manufacturers of modular structures. The short answer is that a modular building, portable classroom or modular home can easily last as long as any standard "conventionally" built structure if it is built properly and maintained regularly.
We suggest always shopping for a high quality used modular building unless you need to control the building specifications from the start.

Modular Classroom Design Tips
Here are some Modular Classroom Design Ideas
Many people ask me about the modular classroom design - in particular if there are ways to improve the acoustics. My answer is always YES!
Modular buildings can have noisy air conditioners and sound from neighboring rooms or playgrounds, etc. can penetrate the standard windows and doors and cause classroom distractions. Here are a few ideas to discuss with your modular building or portable classroom supplier:
1. Request a quiet HVAC system. Bard has its wall mounted QuietClimate series for example.
2. Inquire about upgrading from the standard windows and doors.
3. Request carpet floor covering in place of the typical vinyl tile. Carpet dampens noise.
4. Inquire about upgrading ceiling tiles. There are tiles available that dampen noise and improve insulation - both are worth reasons for upgrading.

If you are in the market to buy or rent a modular structure
you are not alone. Thousands of businesses, schools and churches used modular
buildings and portable classrooms to solve temporary and permanent space

flexibility, speed and environmentally friendly aspects of prefabrication.
Modular building providers have evolved from “trailer”
companies into very capable general contractors that use sophisticated modular
construction processes to deliver functional and modern spaces for various

Plan for A Modular Classroom
Find the right Modular Classroom Plan
Many school facility managers and administrators start developing plans for using modular classrooms and portables during the month of April. Why? With summertime quickly approaching it is important to have the modular classroom structures ordered and scheduled for delivery and installation in July and August while students and teachers are off campus. This gives the modular building suppliers the ability to work longer hours and get each modular in place and ready for the fall semester with minimal distractions.
If you are searching for a modular classroom supplier iModular.com can help you find the most qualified company in your area or you can call Matt Banes for nationwide assistance at (714) 442-2757 ext 108.

How fast is modular building?
How long does it take to build a modular building?
A school facility manager recently wrote to iModular.com with questions about modular classrooms for an emergency preparedness program he was developing for his district. His question was:
"How quickly can we expect to have portable classroom trailers and mobile offices on site after our initial phone call to a supplier?"
This is a common question from public and private schools, government offices and other organizations that have disaster and emergency preparedness plans either in progress or in place and the modular building industry is always ready to help when space is needed quickly.
The short answer is - within hours the process of delivering modular classroom and office space can begin. The larger the amount of space the more time and planning is needed for installation, power, plumbing, etc. Some suppliers have rapidly deployable mobile offices trailers, bathroom trailers and storage containers ready for immediate delivery if needed - these types of structures are your best bet for quick shelter.
Generally speaking a modular classroom that has two modules should take no more than three days to deliver and install on a level site complete with a handicap access ramp. Utilities can take the same amount of time or longer depending upon the nature of the emergency and cooperation by the local utility supplier. If multiple modular classrooms or offices are required the modular supplier will need to confirm that resources such as labor for installation and trucks for transportation are available for immediate work in various locations.
At iModular.com we suggest that you contact your local modular building supplier and work with them to develop a reasonable plan, timeline and budget for your emergency preparedness program.

Selecting a Modular Building Supplier
Question: I’m starting to search for a company that sells and leases modular buildings and need to know a few things. Most importantly – can I trust a company that sells construction trailers to handle a larger modular building project?
Answer: This is a great observation and good question to ask. Over the years I’ve answered this one with mixed reviews of companies that sell a jobsite trailer one day and are leasing and installing a large scale modular building the next. No need to be concerned now as it seems many of the modular building suppliers have broadened their skill set and have the know how and resources to help you with a successful modular installation. In many cases your local supplier will have a department staffed with people who only deal with the various aspects of a modular building project.
My tip for you is to interview as many as three potential modular building suppliers that have physical locations within a reasonable distance of the address where your modular structure will reside. Be sure to ask for references and use them. Too many times I hear about projects that didn’t meet the client’s expectations and if the references would have been called problems could have been avoided.

People searching for prices on used modular buildings, portable classrooms and other prefabricated structures have found very competitive rental rates and purchase prices throughout the United States in the first two weeks of 2012.
